{"id":44,"date":"2024-02-08T02:48:47","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T02:48:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hist428.leahlost.com\/blog\/?p=44"},"modified":"2024-02-08T02:50:33","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T02:50:33","slug":"feb-7-knightlab-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hist428.leahlost.com\/blog\/blog-posts\/feb-7-knightlab-tools\/","title":{"rendered":"Feb 7- Knightlab Tools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here&#8217;s a Storymap I made for a previous course using a tool from <a href=\"https:\/\/knightlab.northwestern.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/knightlab.northwestern.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Knightlab<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/uploads.knightlab.com\/storymapjs\/10c831104e9c5c630300d6acf222fbd3\/henry-iis-england-and-france\/index.html\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"100%\" height=\"800\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p>I found StoryMapJS to be a very easy tool to use- it&#8217;s really no more complicated than making a powerpoint. To place each pin you provide coordinates, then write up a quick paragraph and upload a picture if desired. I had Google Maps open in another tab while I was working, and would look up the city I wanted there, then copy the coordinates and paste them into StoryMap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve looked at a lot of project using interactive maps this semester, which has gotten me really excited to see how we&#8217;re going to incorporate mapping tools into our project.
